Making English Courseware Using TED-ED

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog! On this article, I will discuss about another platform to make a learning courseware which is TED ED.
People might think that TED ED is just for  watching inspirational video but in fact TED ED can do more. By using TED ED, we can make a courseware for any subject. This article will discuss about it. And here we go.
  1. Go to the TED ED website (https://ed.ted.com/)
  2. Then you should sign in to make a lesson or courseware using TED ED. If you don't have one you can register yourself. One important thing is that you can register yourself by using apple account, google account, or your Facebook account. Here is the place where you can register yourself or sign in.

(here is how it looks like after you register or sign in)

  3. Then you can create your lesson and course. What you need to do first is click create.

  4. Click lesson

  5. Find a video on the YouTube which is related to your lesson and past the link on the space provided. Then the video preview will come up.

  6. Click the video preview and click continue.

(this is how it looks like after you click continue)

  7. Click the let's begin. On this part, you can introduce what your students are going to learn.

(this is the place where you can type your introduction to the materials. You can make your text in bold, underlined, or squared. You even can insert other links. Then you can save it if you are finished)

  8. You can move to the next section "think" after you finished. You can click think. There you can write some questions related to the topic. The question can be a multiple choice question or open ended question. Here is the place for the "think section" and the place where you can type the multiple choice question and open ended question.

(this is the place where you can choose whether you want a multiple choice question or open ended question)
(this is the place where you can type the open ended question and after you finished with it, you can save it)  (this is the place where you can type the open ended question and after you finished with it, you can save it)
(this is the place where you can type your multiple choice question and you can save it after you finished. The save button is below the question and choices part).

  9. After you finished with it move to "dig deeper" section. Click the section and you can write your explanation about the materials that you are discussing. The place where you can write your explanation looks the same as the first section. You can make your writing in bold, underlined, or squared and you can insert other link.

  10. Then you can move to "discuss" section. There you can put discussion forum. Your students can ask what ever they want to ask about the materials and the exercise you've given on the other section. You can make more than one discussion forum.

(here is the place where you can make the forum. You need to write the title of the forum with the description below it. After you finish, you can save it directly.)

  11. Then you can move to the last section which is "and finally" section. Here you need to write the closing of your course.

(here is the place where you can write your closing. After you are finished, you can save it.)

  12. After all section are filled you can share it with your students by publishing it. Click publish on the top right.

  13. Then there will appear two option. What you need to choose is the second one to make your students easier to access. Then you can share it to your students.

Well that's all for the steps. Quite easy, isn't it? But there are several notes for you to know. Here it is:
  • On the share section, you don't really need to write anything, you just need to copy link on the top. Then, share it to your link to the students.
  • You can also read the forum and replay the questions this way:
  1. Go to manage and click discussions.

  2. This is how it looks, you can see and replay each question by clicking each forum. Then, you can see and replay it.

Here is the link of my lesson or courseware which I've made using TED ED, you can see how I make it and how is the student's view for the lesson or the learning course:

And I think that's all from me. I hope that all of you can use TED ED to make an interactive and fun lesson or courseware for you students. Wish you luck on making your own courseware. Cheerios!
